Welcome to the Academic Year - 2009/10

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Welcome back to the new school year 2009/2010. We hope you all had a wonderful summer.

At this new start, we should also be aware of preventing the spread of swine flu in our community. In particular, it is vital that we learn to promote good habits of respiratory etiquette and learn to recognise the symptoms of swine flu.

With the view to preventing the spread of the virus in our community, it is advised that the children practice good respiratory and cough etiquette both at home and school.

Also, while there is a minimal risk of infection, please provide your child(ren) with a clean face cloth everyday to dry his/her hands and a ziplock cover to take home the soiled towel. Please provide your child(ren) with disposable tissues to use while coughing or sneezing. You may also wish to provide your child(ren) with a small antibacterial hand gel to keep their little hands clean.

Please be advised that the school will function as normal unless advised otherwise by the Health Board. We would advise that you read the enclosed leaflet and retain this information for future reference.

Further information about this can be obtained from the following websites:
www.swineflu.ie

Wishing you and your family all the very best in this new school year,

Warm Regards
Meena Baskarasubramanian
