Relationship & Sexuality Education
Information Night
Dear Parents/ Guardians 11/05/2011
It is the policy of the school to teach the RSE programme to alternate classes each year. As it is being introduced this year, we would invite all parents to attend the information evening, in particular, parents of senior classes.
The aim of the RSE programme is to provide opportunities for children and young people to learn about relationships and sexuality in ways that help them think and act in a moral caring and responsible way. RSE is part of the SPHE programme which promote the health and well being of children and young people.
Parents have the primary responsibility for the educating of children in sexual matters. The school RSE Programme acts as a support only to parents. All schools in Ireland are legally bound to protect children by teaching the RSE programme.
You are invited to an information meeting on this programme @ 7pm on Wednesday the 18th June 2011, here in the school.
Kind Regards
Tom Moriarty Principal
